Recognizing the importance of developing young leaders who will help shape the future of the cooperative sector, a Youth Leadership Training was conducted on October 3-4, 2026, providing young individuals with an opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills, deepen their understanding of cooperativism, and prepare themselves for future leadership roles in their respective cooperatives.
Youth representatives from all over the Philippines came together at Luxent Hotel, Quezon City, Metro Manila. One of these representatives hails all the way from Antique – Ms. Alessandra J. Daquila from Barbaza Multi-Purpose Cooperative of whom was especially mentioned as a key player in the activities of the training.

The activity emphasized the importance of nurturing young people as active participants in cooperative development. Topics discussed during the 2-day training included the Raiffeisen Philosophy, 11 Changes Every Leadership Must Embrace, Financial Literacy, Policy Development Process, and Writing Effective Policies.
“A good leader duplicates” — mentioned one of the participants.
This quote was later repeated by one of the speakers, Asec. Luz Yringco, emphasizing that a leader looks forward to the future and hopes for what's best for their organization – this includes the sustainability and future growth of the Cooperative, which is only possible if the leader knows how to plan for their own legacy.
